Salinas Pilots Association ("we," "us," or "our") operates this website to serve our members and the local flying community. This policy explains what information the site collects, how it's used, and the choices you have. It applies only to this website, not to any other site or service we may link to.

Information We Collect

We collect information in these ways:

• Account information. If you create a member account, we store the details you provide - such as your name, email address, and password (stored in encrypted form, never as plain text) - so you can sign in and access member-only content.
• Members' Board posts. What you post or reply on the Members' Board is shown, with your name, to every logged-in member - never to the public. You can delete your own posts and replies at any time, and club officers can remove any that break the club's rules.
• Automatically collected information. Like most websites, our server logs basic technical data (such as IP address and browser type) for security and troubleshooting. We also use strictly necessary cookies to keep you signed in and to protect forms from cross-site attacks. These cookies aren't used for advertising or tracking, and we don't currently use any analytics or advertising cookies.

How We Use Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Create and maintain your member account
• Provide access to member-only resources, meeting information, and event details
• Respond to questions or requests you send us
• Keep the site secure and working correctly

We don't sell your information, and we don't use it for advertising.

Third-Party Services

This site loads fonts from Google Fonts and icons from a public icon library (Bootstrap Icons) to display correctly. Loading these may share your IP address and browser information with those providers under their own privacy policies. Live weather information shown on this site is fetched by our server, not your browser, so your information isn't sent to the weather provider.

Data Sharing

We don't sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties. We may share information if required by law, to protect the rights or safety of our members or the public, or with service providers who help us run this website (such as hosting), under obligations to keep it confidential.

Data Security

We take reasonable steps to protect the information you provide, including encrypting passwords and restricting access to member-only content. That said, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security.

Children's Privacy

This site is intended for members and visitors of the general aviation community and isn't directed at children under 13. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Programs like Young Eagles that involve youth are administered in person, not through account creation on this site.

Your Rights

You can:

• Ask us what information we have about you
• Ask us to correct or update your account information
• Ask us to delete your account and associated information
